Glastonbury was absolutely crazy in love with Beyoncé tonight as she headlined the festival – the first woman to do so in twenty years. The pop icon opened her set with her 2003 number one single Crazy in Love, after appearing on the Pyramid Stage silhouetted against a white triangle.
Queen B was typically diva-like arriving ten minutes late (though that’s markedly better than a certain Gaga at Big Weekend) and wore a low cut gold sequinned top.
Well over 50,000 fans were there to cheer her on as she performed hits such as Single Ladies, Naughty Girl, and Baby Boy, as well as some Destiny’s Child songs.
Personally, my favourite performance was Halo! It’s a favourite of mine and I like the fact that she acknowledged the 40 years of Glastonbury with photos and video.
Beyoncé performed an energetic set for nearly two hours, and her voice never faltered once – what a true pop icon!
